Soil Compaction and Maize Root Distribution under Subsoiling Tillage in a Wheat–Maize Double Cropping System

چکیده

Huang-Huai-Hai Plain is the most important region for grain production in China. In this area, long-term rotary tillage winter wheat and no summer maize have significantly increased soil bulk density, which impede root growth reduce yield. Subsoiling an effective practice to improve properties crop growth. The objective of study was investigate integrated effects subsoiling both seasons on spatial distribution. A two-year field experiment conducted wheat–summer rotation system. Tillage treatments included (RT) (ST) season, (NT), inter–row (STIR), on–row (STOR) season. It found that second year, i.e., 2018, ST decreased density by 3.87% porosity 5.86% at 30–40 cm depth maturity. Meanwhile, length 40–50 30.00% yield 4.70% under ST. season treatments, STOR 4.52% 6.96% 20–30 depth. Compared with NT, 78.45%, a horizontal area 0–10 years, significant increase 58.89% 2018. Therefore, demonstrated Plain, has tidal type, can loosen vertical extension system soil.

Hardpan and Maize Root Distribution under Conservation and Conventional Tillage in Agro-ecological Zone Iia, Zambia

Hardpans (plough/hoe pans) are commonly believed to restrict plant root growth and crop yields under conventional small-scale agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa. This study questions the notion of widespread hardpans in Zambia and their remedy under conservation tillage. Soil penetration resistance was measured in 8x12 grids, covering 80 cm wide and 60 cm deep profiles in 32 soil pits. Large and...

Long-term tillage and residue management effect on soil compaction and nitrate leaching in a Typic Haploxerert soil

A field experiment was conducted to compare the effects of long-term tillage and cropresidue management on some physical properties and nitrate leaching of a Typic Haploxerertsoil under winter wheat (Triticum vulgare L.)-soybean (Glycine max L.) double-croppingsystem. The tillage systems consisted of conventional tillage with stubble (CT1), conventionaltillage with stubbles burned (CT2), heavy ...

Integrative impacts of soil tillage on crop yield, N use efficiency and greenhouse gas emission in wheat-corn cropping system

Wheat-corn cropping system is one of the most important grain production systems in theworld. However, the integrative impacts of soil tillage on crop yield, N use efficiency (NUE)and greenhouse gases (GHGS) emissions are not well documented in this system. Thus, a twoyear field experiment was carried out in a typical wheat-corn cropping system with four tillageregimes during the wheat season, ...
